What a week it was. We emerged from our barbeque and beer induced long-weekend slumber on Tuesday just in time for the most shocking court verdict since the O.J. Simpson trial. The ladies of 'The Talk' gave Nancy Grace a run for her money, reacting live to the verdict with tears, confusion and bewilderment.

But other fun things happened too. Betty White played the drums. Bristol Palin and Barbara Walters treated us to one of the most uncomfortable sex discussions ever. Regis Philbin and Larry David had their long-awaited sit-down, and it was as awkward as we hoped. Kathie Lee and Hoda tackled the modern scourge of people talking on their cell phones while sitting on the toilet.

'Dallas' Lives Again: TNT Orders New Series

'Dallas' reboot is a go! TNT has picked up the series.

"TNT has explored the possibility of an updated version of 'Dallas' for several years, but it wasn't until we read Cynthia Cidre's outstanding pilot script that we knew we had the foundation for a great new series," Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), said in a statement. "It is incredibly exciting to see both new and familiar characters in the hands of a dream cast under the guidance of the enormously talented Cidre and Mike Robin. We couldn't be more pleased with how 'Dallas' has come together."


The new series focuses on the children of the original Ewings -- J.R.'s son John Ross and Bobby and Pam's adopted son Christopher. Josh Henderson ('Desperate Housewives') plays John Ross, while Jesse Metcalfe stars as Christopher.

Blake Shelton Tweets About Playing Opposite Wife Miranda Lambert on 'Today' (VIDEO)

While Blake Shelton performed Friday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC), his wife Miranda Lambert was over at 'Good Morning America' doing her own thing. That led to a Tweet war over whose performance more people would be watching. Today anchor Ann Curry brought up the exchanges, and Shelton said Lambert was performing on "The Weather Channel or something."

"We've been popping off back and forth," said Shelton. "She says she wins because she has boobs. And she has a point. Can't argue with that." Not that Shelton would miss the opportunity to argue. He said he has a somewhat secret weapon. "She underestimates my moobs," he said.

Shelton prefaced his remarks by saying that, "getting married is by far the most crucial, pivotal, best thing that's ever happened to me." And he played his song 'Honey Bee,' which he can claim he was singing to Lambert if he gets into trouble later.

Snare, toms and cymbals morph similarly before the band moves on to sound check the other instruments and finally the vocals. Without the 300-plus bodies in the room to absorb this sound, it is absolutely cacophonous in the house. Sleeper Agent's main songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Tony "Tutone" Smith, 24, steps to the microphone and begins to sing.

People often say that Smith sounds like Jack White and sometimes he does. And, certainly, there could be a worse comparison, but who would want to stand in that shadow? If one character trait runs through Sleeper Agent's lineup it is that they uniformly buck any classificatory girdle

Just because you've partied to Girl Talk doesn't mean Gregg Gillis makes party music. At least, that's what the Pittsburgh artist maintains when acknowledging he's been typecast as the "crazy party guy." Not that he's offended, mind you.

"I like it," says the mash-up artist extraordinaire. "A lot of my favourite music and musicians and artists are people who can be enjoyed on a very surface level but you can also really piece apart conceptually. 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Season 8: 10 Things You Need to Know

Hello, Larry! We've missed the antics of Larry David and his 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' pals, but our lives will be Larry-less no more, as the eighth season of 'Curb' kicks off this weekend (Sun., July 10, 10PM ET on HBO).

'Breaking In' Still Alive at Fox ... Sort Of

Somehow, Fox's 'Breaking In' is still alive. The Christian Slater comedy was bounced around the network's schedule, shedding viewers like wildfire.

Premiering to close to 10 million viewers and fizzling to just over 3 million, the series was as good as dead ... until Fox picked up the actor's contracts for a possible Season 2.

According to Deadline, the actors are contracted until Nov. 15, making 'Breaking In' a possible mid-season contender. Fox is splitting the cost of keeping the actors under contract with producer Sony Pictures TV.

Casey Anthony Verdict Comes Back 'Not Guilty' On All Major Charges (VIDEO)

A jury found Casey Anthony "not guilty" on charges of murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter Tuesday in a case involving the death of Anthony's two-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008. Anthony was found guilty on two counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer. Sentencing on those counts will happen Thursday.

The reading of the verdict from a court in Orlando, Florida was carried live on many networks, including FOX News, and came as a shock to those who believed Anthony would be convicted on charges of either murder or manslaughter.

Adele Plans More 'Acoustic' Approach on Next Album

For her next album Adele is planning a simpler more acoustic approach, the singer has revealed. However it's not just the sound on the follow-up to '21' Adele will change -- she also intends to take on recording, production and mastering duties herself.

Speaking to Q magazine (via Contactmusic), she explained, "I've accumulated some things to write about again. I'd go into the studio tomorrow if I could. It won't be a big production. I want it to be quite acoustic and piano-led. I want to write it, record it all, produce it all and master it on my own.

"I think it'll take a lot longer because I want to do it this way. When I move house in the summer, my sound engineer is going to come and help me install a studio and teach me how to use it.

Three Cast Members Fired From Chelsea Handler's New Sitcom

It's not a great start to the Fourth of July for several cast members of Chelsea Handler's new NBC sitcom, 'Are You There, Vodka? It's Me Chelsea' as they've been fired.

According to TVLine.com the comedy is being radically retooled, which has involved pink slips being handed out to nearly half of the ensemble cast, including Natalie Morales ('White Collar'), Angel Laketa Moore ('ER') and Jo Koy ('Chelsea Lately').

A spokesperson for the show confirmed that the three are leaving "for creative reasons," and that their characters are currently being reconceived.

Little Willie John's Short, Influential Career Documented in New Book -- Excerpt

Before there was Motown, it took a pint-sized dynamo named Little Willie John to put Detroit on the musical map. One fellow performer insisted that it was John, not James Brown, who should have been called Soul Brother Number One. He recorded the first version of 'Fever,' the great torch song, and the original 'Need Your Love So Bad,' now a blues standard. Many acts, including the Sonics, Elvis Costello and a foursome called the Beatles, covered another of his songs, 'Leave My Kitten Alone.'

Although he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, the consummate showman is not well remembered today. That's largely because of his premature ending: He died at age 30 in 1968 in a Northwest prison, after serving time on a manslaughter conviction. In 'Fever -- Little Willie John: A Fast Life, Mysterious Death and the Birth of Soul,' longtime Detroit-based rock critic Susan Whitall tells the previously untold story of the diminutive man who set the bar absurdly high for Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and so many others. The following is an exclusive excerpt.

With the Upsetters behind him, Willie could not be stopped. Jerry "the Iceman" Butler witnessed the act many times. With his group, the Impressions, he had already been on the bottom of several bills under Willie. Butler was in awe of him, although he was only two years younger. "We had grown up listening to Little Willie John as a star," Butler said. "So to work with him, wow! That's Little Willie John! It was kind of the relationship the rookie has to the star quarterback. Here we are, five guys out of Chicago, Illinois, never been anywhere in particular, all of a sudden we're sharing a stage with one of our idols, one of the guys that we grew up listening to." Butler watched and learned. "He was a little guy, but he was a big guy, in the sense that he was small physically but his stature, in terms of the industry and in terms of command of the stage and knowing how to perform, he was a giant."
